The top lots in Sotheby’s Master of Wine fundraising auction
A set of unique and indulgent wine insider experiences, along with some highly collectible bottles, are to go under the hammer as part of a Sotheby’s online fundraising auction for the Institute of Masters of Wine (IMW).

Called Explore the World of Fine Wine, the auction will be live online at Sothebys.com from 17 November to 1 December 2025, and features “a once-in-a-lifetime chance to access ultra-rare bottles and ‘money-can’t-buy’ insider experiences”.
Among the top lots are a 12 litre Balthazar of Pavillon Rouge du Château Margaux 2015 — one of only five ever produced – and an exclusive tour of four top McLaren Vale Grenache estates, including a Grenache masterclass and dinner, hosted by Masters of Wine Giles Cooke MW, Drew Noon MW, David Gleave MW and Matthew Deller MW.
As previously reported on by db, the auction is being held to “support the IMW and its community” and has seen several prominent MWs donate their time and expertise to provide extraordinary experiences for anyone who loves wine.
