Minuty Prestige wines gain traction in on-trade

Two wines from Minuty have been gathering pace on bar and restaurant lists since launching in the UK on-trade this year.

The reason: consumers are seeking freshness and subtle flavours, which each of the wines claims to offer.

Speaking to db, Moët Hennessy UK’s head of wines Claudia Bastiaensen said: “We’ve experienced really positive interest from the on-trade, as Minuty is such a recognisable Provence brand thanks to its strong association with St-Tropez. It’s gaining good traction with interesting and highly qualitative accounts, from five-star hotels like the Peninsula to high-end restaurants like The Maine and Sushi Samba, [and] indies like Straker’s.”

Bastiaensen continued: “The category is still booming. And the wines are typically very well-received during tastings.”

Minuty president Jean-Etienne Matton added that the Prestige range was first introduced more than 25 years ago, when he and his brother, François Matton, set out to bring a strong aromatic signature – defined by elegance, freshness and lightness – to a wider audience of rosé lovers. Its transition into the UK on-trade is the latest chapter of its story.

Both the white and the rosé, he explained, are crafted to “showcase Provence’s terroirs”, and are “perfect to enjoy as an aperitif or during a meal”.

Reflecting the success of Minuty Prestige Rosé in the trade, the wine was recently awarded a Silver medal in db’s Global Rosé Masters 2025. Indeed, Minuty has a record of success at the competitions: Château Minuty 281 2023 was named the best rosé of 2024 at The Master Winemaker 100 ceremony at Wine Paris earlier this year.

Yet the white wine is not to be forgotten. Speaking with db last year, Jean-Etienne’s brother François Matton described white wine as “the future of Minuty”. Although rosé wine has evidently been a huge success story for Provence, white wine is also showing considerable global medium-term growth according to the OIV, and so Minuty’s focus is aligning the maison with worldwide trends.
