Now in its 5th year, ProWine China will be taking place in Shanghai this November and exhibitor registrations are underway.

Germany’s Federal Ministry for Food and Agriculture (BMEL) has joined forces with German Wine Institute (DWI) to announce the largest national investment at the fair to date.

Consorzio Italia del Vino will be at the show with numerous estates and companies while Advantage Austria and Wines of Portugal are also expanding.

Making their debut at ProWine China, Serbia and Bulgaria will each have their own national stand.

The number of Chinese exhibitors is also rising with numerous producers from China’s native winegrowing regions represented at the UP-Chinese stand.

A host of individual visitors attending is set to include Les Grands Chais de France (GCF), Dalmacijavino, Duca Di Salaparuta, WSET and COFCO GreatWall.

The structure of exhibitors also continues to develop, with Italy’s Chianti Classico, Vino Nobile di Montepulciano, France’s Inter Beaujolais and Spain’s D.O. Montsant making their debuts.

China has seen a sharply rising interest in wines and spirits and the show offers a platform for Chinese trade visitors seeking comprehensive information about international wine and spirits.

Aiming for greater visitor acquisition, ProWine China is focusing on specific areas such as Beijing, Tianjin, Hebei, Inner Mongolia, Liaoning and Jili in the northern part of the country.

Starting in August, a new round of city-specific promotions will offer planned activities such as masterclasses and themed dinners in more than 30 Chinese cities, including Shenzhen, Guangzhou, Nanning, Kunming, Shenyang, Beijing, Qingdao, Xi’an, Chengdu, Changchun, Shijiazhuang, Tianjin, Urumqi and Hohhot.

Taking place between 12 and 14 November in halls W4 and W5 of the Shanghai New International Expo Center (SNIEC), further information can be found here.
