Mr Fogg’s recruiting for round the world adventure

Quirky London bar Mr Fogg’s is recruiting for a dream job for gin lovers that will see them travel the world in search of exotic botanicals, herbs and spices.

Applications are being accepted for the all expenses paid adventure, which takes in Mumbai, Hong Kong, Tokyo, San Francisco, New York and Lisbon in 80 days, in a hat tip to fictional explorer Phileas Fogg’s famous journey around the globe.

The botanicals, herbs and spices unearthed by the lucky recruit will be used in a bespoke ‘Around the World’ cocktail at the latest bar in the Mr Fogg’s stable: Mr Fogg’s Society of Exploration, which opens in Charing Cross this autumn.

To be in with a chance of landing the job you need to have good photography skills; be a deft writer; have oodles of followers on social media; and have a strong knowledge of both the Bombay Sapphire and Mr Fogg’s brands.

The successful applicant will be cherry picked by explorer Levison Wood and will be paid for their troubles and allowed to take a friend along for the ride with them.

To make sure they’re travel ready, both explorers will be kitted out with a bespoke atlas, journal, luggage tags and hip flask made by Aspinal of London.

The winning recruit will be asked to document their adventure in their journal, in an online blog and via social media, so Mr Fogg’s fans can follow their journey every step of the way.

The dream job is being offered by the Inception Group, which owns the Mr Fogg’s bars, and gin brand Bombay Sapphire.

The perks continue after the journey is completed as both explorers will be allowed to enjoy their cocktail creation on the house whenever they visit Mr Fogg’s Society of Exploration.

“We’ve loved welcoming people into Mr Fogg’s world without setting foot outside of London. We are now delighted to announce the expansion of the Mr Fogg’s collection and have the chance to send two people around the world in 80 days.

“We can’t wait to follow all of their global adventures – Phileas would be proud,” said Inception Group founders Charlie Gilkes and Duncan Stirling. To apply for the job, click here.

Mr Fogg’s Society of Exploration will open in Charing Cross this autumn, and will feature a train carriage and map room inspired by the adventures of Phileas Fogg.
