New claret highs as trade awakens
Two Bordeaux labels have seen new record highs on the Liv-ex exchange as trade picks up again after the usual summer lull.
Trade levels on the Exchange lifted last week according to Liv-ex with the value of trade doubling as the annual summer quiet period appeared to come to an end.
The top traded wines by value from 18-24 August were Perrier-Jouët’s 2008 Belle Epoque, the 2012 Pagodes de Cos, Haut-Brion’s 2007 and 2014 vintages and the 1996 Margaux.
Meanwhile, a number of wines traded at new all-time highs yesterday (31 August).
