Ramsay reveals new Thames-side restaurant

A new partnership between Sea Containers London and Gordon Ramsay Restaurants Global will bring a major hospitality opening to the South Bank later this year.

Sea Containers London has announced a new partnership with Gordon Ramsay Restaurants Global that will see the launch of a new riverside restaurant on London’s South Bank this autumn.

Named ‘Gordon Ramsay at Sea Containers’, the restaurant will become the hotel’s signature dining venue, serving breakfast, lunch and dinner to both hotel guests and visitors.

The opening marks the latest addition to Gordon Ramsay Restaurants Global’s growing portfolio of destination venues and further strengthens Sea Containers London’s food and drink offering.

Riverside dining destination

According to the hotel, the restaurant has been designed specifically for its South Bank setting, combining Gordon Ramsay Restaurants Global’s hospitality approach with Sea Containers London’s “distinctive design identity” and riverside location.

An outdoor terrace overlooking the River Thames and the London skyline will also form part of the venue.

Interiors have been designed by Jacu Strauss, creative director and designer at Lore Group. The design takes inspiration from the building’s transatlantic cruise liner aesthetic, with red tones influenced by Blackfriars Bridge alongside references to classic ship design.

Located on the South Bank, Sea Containers London is already home to several hospitality venues including Lyaness, rooftop bar 12th Knot and Curzon Sea Containers.

‘Clear alignment in vision’

Andy Wenlock, CEO of Gordon Ramsay Restaurants Global, said: “We’re proud to be partnering with Sea Containers London on such a landmark riverside destination. From the outset, there was a clear alignment in vision, ambition and commitment to delivering world-class guest experiences.”

He added: “Sea Containers London has an unmistakable identity and energy, and together we’re creating a restaurant that captures the vibrancy of the South Bank while upholding the standards of quality, atmosphere and hospitality that define our restaurants globally.”

David Taylor, CEO of Lore Group, described the partnership as “an important moment” for the hotel and wider group.

“Sea Containers London has always been about creating culturally relevant experiences that reflect the energy and creativity of the South Bank,” he said. “Partnering with Gordon Ramsay Restaurants Global brings together two brands that share a commitment to quality, originality and world-class hospitality.”
