Thornbridge teams up with musician Martyn Ware
Derbyshire’s Thornbridge Brewery has partnered with Martyn Ware, a founding member of the bands The Human League and Heaven 17, to create a pump clip for its Jaipur beer brand for Sheffield Beer Week.

The week-long city-wide celebration, which takes place from 9-16 March, has a theme this year entitled “Sheffield Synth City” which is set to honour Sheffield as the home of pioneering synth-pop, electronic and bleep-and-bass artists.
Reinagined
To amplify this message, Ware has collaborated with Thornbridge to design a new Jaipur badge inspired by Heaven 17’s visual identity and Sheffield’s pioneering synth movement.
The limited-edition “Synth City” pump clip has been reimagined to celebrate the band’s contribution to the city’s musical landscape.
A perfect fit
Speaking to the drinks business, Thornbridge co-founder and CEO Simon Webster said: “When we heard that Sheffield Beer Week was going to carry the ‘Synth City’ tag it was obvious that I would contact my good friend Martyn Ware one of the true pioneers of synth music.

Webster told db: “Over the years we have shared many pints of Jaipur so I thought it apt to ask him to have some fun and re-design the pump clip for this great week.”
Ware explained: “As a long-time friend of the owners of Thornbridge, the chance to team up with them on a new limited-edition pump clip for their most well-known beer felt like a fantastic way to celebrate Sheffield Synth City.”
Distinctive
Webster added: “We’re incredibly excited to celebrate Sheffield’s musical heritage in such a distinctive way.”
The limited-edition Synth City Jaipur badge will be available in pubs across Sheffield pouring Jaipur cask throughout Sheffield Beer Week 2026.
