Final call: The Global Merlot Masters 2026

From its historic homeland in Bordeaux to the warm vineyards of California and beyond, Merlot produces an extraordinary range of styles, from plush and fruit-forward to structured and ageworthy. The Global Merlot Masters 2026 will bring these diverse and distinct expressions together, as our expert panel seeks out the very best examples from around the world.

The Global Merlot Masters 2025 will bring these diverse and distinct expressions together, as our expert panel seeks out the very best examples from around the world.

As with all the drinks business awards, entries will be judged in a blind tasting by a panel comprised exclusively of Masters of Wine, Master Sommeliers and senior buyers, ensuring credibility and global recognition for the results. Blends containing at least 50% Merlot are accepted into the competition, offering producers the opportunity to submit both varietal and blended wines.
