Hendler Family Brewing acquires majority of Sloop Brewery

Massachusetts-based Hendler Family Brewing has signed a partnership deal to gain a majority share of Hudson Valley’s Sloop Brewery.

The “strategic partnership” agreement will see Hendler Family Brewing take over most of Sloop Brewery’s beer production and will also see it take on sales and marketing responsibilities for the business.

As part of the deal, the majority of Sloop Brewery’s flagship beer, Juice Bomb, will be made by Hendler Family Brewing in Hopewell Junction while Sloop Brewery will continue to operate its main production facility and taproom to serve Hudson Valley locals.

Speaking about the deal, Hendler Family Brewing Company co-founder Sam Hendler said: “In partnership with Sloop Brewing Company, we are dedicated to preserving the beloved quality and integrity of Sloop Juice Bomb that consumers expect.”

Sloop Brewing co-founder Adam Watson explained: “Both HFBC and Sloop’s areas of expertise and strength are complementary, allowing us both to excel and retain the integrity of our shared portfolio and joint mission of expanding the independent craft beer market share in regional markets and beyond.”

Additionally, Watson added that Sloop’s mission has always been to be “community-driven, make good beer, and have fun while doing it” and pointed out that this deal assisted in the brewery continuing to do just that.
