Bibendum and The Drinks Trust partner to offer wine training

Premium wine specialist Bibendum and industry charity The Drinks Trust have teamed up to launch their Wine Confidence course for hospitality workers.

Hosted through The Drinks Trust’s Develop initiative, launched in February of this year, the one-day course is free. It is aimed at front of house staff working in the hospitality industry eager to develop their skills and expand their drinks knowledge.

The workshop has been designed to give participants greater confidence when recommending wine to customers by enhancing their understanding of the product. In addition to cover the basics of labelling terms and pricing differences, there will also be training concerned with food pairings as well as correct methods of service.

Julia Bailey, head of training at Bibendum Wine, is “thrilled” with the partnership: “Develop is a brilliant and very worthwhile initiative, and we are pleased to be able to support through providing training on essential skills for those working with wine.”

The Drinks Trust CEO Ross Carter sees the Wine Confidence course as one of the first steps in expanding the charity’s educational offerings: “We are very proud that Develop offers internationally recognised qualifications and a variety of training and vocational courses, and we are confident that with the support of great companies, such as Bibendum, we can make Develop a core part of The Drinks Trust offering for many years to come.”

The first course will take place in London on 27 July at Bibendum’s Regents Park Road office. For more information and the full eligibility criteria, click here.
