The new Hennessy Golden Vines Diversity Scholarship in Spirits, which is in partnership with the Gérard Basset Foundation and Liquid Icons, will support an aspiring wine & spirits professional from a minority group to make it easier for them to participate in a 12-month internship programme at Hennessy, which includes time in departments including education & training, winemaking, distillation, and final assemblage of eaux-de-vies.

The scholarship includes all examination costs for WSET Level 3 in Spirits, and is intended to cover any loss of earnings from undertaking the internship. It is hoped that this will make it possible for a wider pool of applicants to apply for the internship.

Lewis Chester of Liquid Icons, and head of fundraising at the Gérard Basset Foundation, said he was delighted that such a prestigious spirits brand as Hennessy had decided to support the groundbreaking new scholarship programme for students from a minority background looking to study for and enter the world of spirits at the highest level in the industry.
