Samuel Adams announced the initiative to give free beer to people who get a Covid vaccine to celebrate National Beer Day last week. ‘ShotForSam’ offers beer money for the next month to the first 10,000 Americans to prove that they have had a vaccine against Covid-19. For the avoidance of doubt, in the United States this is defined as at least one shot of the Pfizer/Moderna vaccines or a single shot of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine).

“Sam Adams hopes drinkers will get back to supporting the bars and restaurants they love,” the company said on its website. “So if you get vaccinated against Covid-19, we’ll buy your first beer back!”

The promotion goes live today (Monday 12 April) and will run until 15 May, or until 10,000 people have received beer money. It is open to US citizens aged 21 or older.

To enter the promotion and get your beer money, all you’ll need to do is share a picture of your vaccine card or sticker to Instagram or Twitter using the hashtag ShotForSam. Alternatively, you can send a photo directly to the company via email.

Winners will be contacted via direct message, after which Sam Adams will give free beer to people who get a Covid vaccine. they will receive $7 via Cash App to cover the cost of a Sam Adams beer of their choice from a local hospitality venue.
