McGuigan boosts UK Black Label distribution
Australian wine giant McGuigan is increasing the distribution of its core Black Label range, which will be available in Tesco and Morrisons this spring.
The rollout will see the Black Label Shiraz and the Black Label Chardonnay listed in Tesco, and the Black Label Sparkling Shiraz available from Morrisons.
Australian Vintage Limited (AVL) chief operating officer for UK, Europe, Americas, Julian Dyer said: “We’re incredibly excited to widen the distribution of our Black Label range, McGuigan Black Label is our best-selling range in the UK and globally.
“The new listings in these major retailers allow us to reach new wine lovers and tap further into casual at-home drinking trends.”
McGuigan’s Black Label Shiraz is described as a “well-rounded and punchy red, packed with flavours of ripe plum, blackberry and spices, including vanilla, cinnamon, pepper and caramel.”
The Hunter Valley winemaker’s Black Label Chardonnay is described as having “a smooth creamy palate with sweet tropical fruit and melon flavours, and a touch of oak makes this a versatile wine that accompanies most food styles.”
Its Black Label Sparkling Shiraz is reported to have “dark berry flavours of blackcurrant and plum, and a touch of spicy oak and chocolate.”
The McGuigan Black Label range has secured three of the top six positions as Australia’s best selling red wine by volume: #1 Black Label Red, #3 Black Label Cabernet Merlot and #6 Black Label Merlot.
McGuigan Wines has also been crowned International Winemaker of the Year at the International Winemaker & Spirits Competition (IWSC) four times.
At the Syrah Masters – Asia 2020 competition, AVL won a Master for its McGuigan Personal Reserve Oldman Shiraz 2019.
