Norfolk winery Flint joins Bibendum

UK importer and wholesaler Bibendum has bolstered its range of English wines with the addition of up-and-coming Norfolk producer Flint.

Flint is the sixth producer Bibendum has added from the Fields, Morris & Verdin portfolio; along with Neudorf, Bodega Mustiguillo, Domaine Felines Jourdan, Giovanni Rosso and Quinta de la Rosa.

Founded in 2016, Flint’s founders Ben and Hannah Witchell have very quickly established an excellent reputation for their wines.

Ben was a first first-class graduate from Plumpton and won the awards for ‘Best Research Project’ and ‘Top Winemaking Student’.

He is particularly well known for his charmat method sparkling wines and still Bacchus.

Andrew Shaw, buying director for Bibendum commented: “We are thrilled to welcome Flint Vineyard to the Bibendum family, adding to our highly recognised portfolio of English wine producers. Ben, Hannah and their team are wonderfully passionate individuals, producing some of the most flavoursome still and innovative sparkling wines produced on these shores – a recipe for great success in the future.”

Ben Witchell added: “We are really excited to be working with Bibendum, and feel that it was a serendipitous match after being won over by their passion for wine and genuine belief in Flint.

“Since meeting the Bibendum team, we have been blown away by their enthusiasm and impressed with their desire to provide the best English wines to a wide range of discerning customers. We can’t wait to build what will hopefully become a long term partnership that gradually brings our relatively low volume wines to a wider audience, whilst allowing us to focus on the things that are most important to us: quality, innovation, and tradition.

“Flint is a small, family-run business, with values that are grounded in sustainability and provenance. Bibendum shares these values and we are confident that they will help us to grow, whilst allowing us to honour our roots.”

Flint joins fellow English wineries Ridgeview, Coates & Seely, Albourne, Litmus and Fitz in Bibendum’s portfolio.
