Nine creative gourmet takeaways in Hong Kong

 Tate Dining Room

Chef & Owner Vicky Lau introduces Date by TATE, a new private home dining experience and online gourmet shopping platform that brings a Michelin-starred Frenco-Chinese gastronomic experience directly to customers.

To start off, chef Lau has created the ‘An Ode To Home’ Gastronomy Box to enhance at-home dining with a fully-catered multi-course menu, beverage pairing, and a specially curated music playlist. The eight-course menu features a range of starters, a main course choice between Mayura beef tenderloin or blue lobster, then cheese and desserts. With a minimum requirement of two box sets per order, the Gastronomy Gourmet Boxes will be produced in limited quantities of only 30 per day, from Tuesday to Saturday only.

 Simon Rogan at home

Named the UK’s best-value Michelin-starred takeaway meal, British chef-owner Simon Rogan’s “Simon Rogan at home” has arrived in Hong Kong.

Priced at HK$300 for three courses, the meal arrives with re-heating instruction cards and video for the best possible Simon Rogan restaurant experience at home. The dishes will rotate regularly so there is always something new to try.

Online orders via the booking platform can be placed with a 24 hours notice. Delivery is available within Hong Kong island for a minimum of two people. Alternatively, diners can also pre-order and take away meals through self pick-up at the restaurant on Monday-Sunday from 3:30pm-6:00pm.

 Yakinikumafia

Yakinikumafia Hong Kong, sister shop of the Japanese Wagyu specialist Wagyumafia, is bringing premium Japanese Iwatani yakiniku grill experience to diners’ doorsteps.

The Home Experience Grill Sets (HK$1,780/ HK$2,880 for two/ four) feature Ozaki Beef and Wagyu of different cuts and fattiness, complemented with sides such as truffle salt edamam, salad and rice.

For an extra HK$600, an Iwatani gas grill is included as well. Meanwhile, Wagyumafia’s butcher service, which used to be exclusive to members only, is now open to the public in August. A sukiyaki combo, recommended for two people with 400g ready-sliced Ozaki beef and one portion of Wagyumafia sukiyaki sauce, is available for HK$1,200.

 Fortnum & Mason

Upper crust department store Fortnum & Mason has upped the afternoon tea game by introducing its signature menu on Deliveroo. On top of full afternoon tea set with freshly baked scones, cakes, patisserie, sandwiches and tea, the service also covers the delivery of savoury cold plates, and the brand’s Champagne and sparkling tea.

 Ads Four Seasons Hotel Hong Kong

Not to be outdone in the tiffin stakes, the seasonal afternoon tea menu from Four Seasons offers a range of savoury snacks and desserts, including scones, open-sandwiches and the signature red velvet cake.

The set is priced at $628 for two, and order should be placed 24 hours in advance. Order via the hotel’s online shop and delivery service is available at additional costs.

 Duddell’s

Duddell’s has curated a host of set menus featuring Cantonese favourites. The bestselling meal delivery option include the ‘Back to 80’s Dim Sum Tea Set’ with assorted delicacies designed for four to eight persons (price starts from HK$588). The Peking Duck Sharing Set Menu for four to six persons (HK$1,280), which features Peking Duck two ways: the traditional serving with pancakes and condiments such as Duddell’s Peking duck sauce and scallions, and the second way in fried rice with diced vegetables. Orders can be placed on the website.

 Restaurant Petrus

“Shangri-La To Go” is the new initiative of the five-star hotel group to transform its outlets’ signature premium food and beverage experiences in reliable takeaway and delivery options.

Restaurant Petrus has introduced a Michelin-starred French fine dining menu for homebound customers. Available in three to five-course set menus, customers simply need to heat up and garnish the dishes according to the instructions provided by the chef. Price for each menu starts from HK$1,088 per guest.

 Tin Lung Heen

A two-starred Michelin dim sum experience that can now be enjoyed in the comfort of your home. Signature items from Tin Lung Heen include: double-boiled chicken soup with fish maw in baby coconut, baked Middle East Yoshihama abalone puff, braised pork belly with supreme sauce, and chilled mango cream with sago and pomelo are now available for takeaway.

 Écriture A La Maison

Écriture is presenting diners a 2-Michelin-starred takeaway and delivery experience highlighting hand-selected premium ingredients from France. Curated by executive chef Maxime Gilbert, guests can now choose from six different set menus depending on the occasion and party size, as well as a much-expanded menu of a la carte options to enjoy at home.

The a la carte takeaway and delivery menu features some of Gilbert’s finest signature dishes such as paté en croute (HK$298) made with Mieral Bresse chicken, Basque country milk-fed veal sweetbread, foie gras, and herb salad; Wagyu Beef Sando (HK$888) with homemade milk bread and spicy tomato sauce; caviar & uni tart (HK$998-HK$1,988) featuring Royal caviar Club Schrenckii caviar, Hokkaido sea urchin, kabu bavaroise, beurre blanc, and buckwheat tart shell; Pyrenees Confit Baby Lamb Shoulder (HK$858), slow-cooked over 12 hours and served with potato gratin dauphinois; and Kouign Amann (HK$68), a traditional French pastry dessert served with Issigny sour cream. Wine orders for takeaway or delivery is now offering a 25% discount to top up the experience.

 Morton’s The Steakhouse

Morton’s The Steakhouse’s prepare-at-home house specialties include classic Morton’s favourites which are easy to grill in a home kitchen. The Table for Two package at HK$658 offers a feast of two 6oz pieces of filet mignon plus a duo of 5oz cold water lobster tails. Side options include grilled jumbo asparagus or comforting mashed potatoes.

The steakhouse’s renowned bacon and onion macaroni & cheese is now available in a ready-to-bake format. Pairs who prefer to dine sharing-style can enjoy the same feast but swap their filets for a 16oz centre-cut prime ribeye which is perfect for two (HK$608 including side and dessert). The Ultimate Grill packages will be ideal for groups of up to eight people.
