Take the survey: The future of wine tastings
The UK wine trade is being encouraged to take part in a survey on how best to organise future trade tastings in as safe a way as possible.
Organised by a group of 24 leading wine PR companies and generic bodies, the aim of the survey is to establish a comprehensive set of guidelines for organising wine events in a Covid-safe environment.
The survey, which has currently had over 500 responses, has been devised to reassure stakeholders that the wine industry has carefully considered all aspects of how to organise and host safe Covid-aware trade tastings.
It is hoped that this will enable members of the trade to feel able to attend trade tastings with confidence.
As set out by the survey’s organisers, the following hygiene measures will become standard practice at future trade tastings:
- Hand sanitiser will be availableon arrival and throughout the venue, and must be used by all on arrival
- Tables will be wiped down regularly and cleaning equipment provided to all exhibitors
- Event staff will be provided with disposable gloves, face shields and masks
- Social distancing signage will be on display, including one-way routes
