What’s on this weekend

ITV announced last month it has canceled this year’s series of Love Island.

With a bit more time on her hands, presenter Laura Whitmore will be drinking vodka in her kitchen this evening (7 May).

No, not like that! Whitmore has partnered with Bacardi-owned Grey Goose on a virtual dinner party experience that will be streamed on the vodka brand’s Facebook Live.

To coincide with Cosmopolitan Day today, Whitmore will show guests how to create popular vodka-based cocktails including the Grey Goose Cosmopolitan, Grey Goose Le Grand Fizz, and Grey Goose Espresso Martini.

The Love Island host will share her top tips for hosting the ultimate virtual dinner party this weekend. From table scaping, cocktail making and everything in between.

When: 7 May 5pm-5:30pm BST

The London Essence Company is working with TV bartender Merlin Griffiths to create a content series on Facebook and Instagram offering pro insider tips showing consumers how they can elevate their at-home drinking experience.

This follows research from the brand which reveals that 43% of UK drinkers miss the sense of occasion of visiting a bar, with nearly half (45%) of people missing bartender expertise, saying that their drinks never look or taste as good as when made by a mixologist.

The tips will be live on Instagram and Facebook from 6 May for consumers and industry-professionals alike to revert to during lockdown.

This evening, as part of Spanish Wine Week, Esther Gonzalez de Paz will host an online masterclass dedicated to DOP Jumilla wines at 6:30pm CEST.

Last week, we told you about the cocktail masterclass series launched by William Borrell, the man behind north London’s Ladies and Gentleman bar. Whatever ingredient you’re missing, Borrell shows you how to improvise and whip something up with the stuff in your kitchen.

This week, he’s back, and this time he’s doing something with gin, rhubarb and custard. Suffice to say, we’re intrigued.
