Drinks Trust raises over £1m through Covid-19 campaign

Industry charity The Drinks Trust has raised over £1 million through a campaign launched in March to support those affected by the Covid-19 outbreak.

The funds, raised through the charity’s Your Round, Help Your Trade campaign, will be used to aid members of the drinks industry that are in financial hardship as a result of the pandemic.

A total of £650,000 came from donations and fundraising initiates, while a further £350,000 has been achieved through business partners renewing donations, or renewing at higher levels.

This money is in addition to The Drinks Trust’s Covid-19 Emergency Grand fund, which has given a total of 1,750 beneficiaries one-off grants of £250. Most of those receiving the grants have experienced a reduction in income as a result of Covid-19.

The charity also stated that it will continue to provide ongoing support to over 350 people, many of whom are within the most at-risk groups with regards to the pandemic.

Ross Carter, CEO of The Drinks Trust, said: “We are so grateful to absolutely everyone who has responded so quickly at this difficult time.

“We hope to work with you all on an ongoing basis to ensure that we continue to provide support for all drinks industry professionals.”

The charity has also launched a series of wellbeing updates, written by mental health first aider and leadership coach Kat Hounsell. Those interested can subscribe and receive email updates.
