New head of Wines of Centre-Loire named

Rosalinde Bourgeois-Jaarsma has been named as the new director of the Bureau Interprofessionnel des Vins du Centre (BIVC).

Head of the Comité de Promotion des Vins de Sancerre since 2017, Bourgeois-Jaarsma takes over at the head of the BIVC from Benoît Roumet who headed the organisation since its founding in 1994 but who left in September last year.

Her first priority will be implementing the integration of sustainable practices which all Centre-Loire producers are required to conform to by 2030.

A graduate of the Institut d’Etudes Politiques de Paris, her first wine experience was with the wine division of Business France in the Netherlands.

The BIVC has also appointed two new co-presidents, Anne Clément from Domaine Clément to represent the region’s négociants and Jean-Dominique Vacheron from Domaine Vacheron to represent the winemakers.
