Maison Rigal orange wine

Cahors-based wine producer Maison Rigal has released an orange wine made with Gros Manseng. According to the traditional practice, the grape skins are kept in contact with the juice during fermentation, replicating the process usually used for red wine. This production method lends the wine its orange colour and intense flavours of white peach and citrus fruits, with savoury notes coming through. Julien Touboul, general manager and oenologist at the French company says it’s time for the producer to “think outside the box” and “go beyond a mere trend”.

RRP: €5.50.
