Wine2Wine launches call for speakers

Vinitaly’s international wine forum Wine2Wine has launched a call for speakers as it gears up for its sixth annual show in November.

The two-day event, which is organised by Veronafiere, the team behind the popular Italian trade show, will take place on November 25th and 26th in Verona.

The organisers are planning planning to host more than 100 speakers from across the international wine community, and although around 80% of the speakers will be recruited directly by the wine2wine team, it has opened up the process to attract a diverse roll-call of professionals to take part in seminars, interactive workshops and a speaker’s corner.

“The purpose of this is to widen the net, render the event inclusive and to ensure that participants benefit from the most exciting, relevant and practical content,” the organisers said.

Applicants will need to submit a proposal including an outline and title of their presentation title as well as a short video demonstrating their presentation skills, and a short bio by 22 July via the wine2wine website. The sessions must be practical, approachable and provide tangible tools that assist participants in growing their wine businesses, the organisers added.

The team has already confirmed a broad line up of speakers from across the industry, comprising retailers, ecommerce strategists, sommeliers, journalists, academics, winemakers, entrepreneurs, investors and educators.

Experts already taking part include sommelier Yannick Benjamin, vine geneticist Professor Attilio Scienza, e-commerce strategies expert Gerard Spatafora, presenter and head of London sales at Fields, Morris & Verdin Joe Fattorini, winemaker Lenz Moser, and Italian winery owner and brand ambassador Gaia Gaja.

Some of the sessions already organised include demystifying the latest technological advances from augmented reality, to blockchain technology, and the latest wine apps to enrich wine businesses; a look at digital analytics and platforms to revolutionise marketing & communication strategies; how effective management & leadership underpins success; the dynamics of export markets and how to boost sales, ecological & social sustainability and how viticulture & oenology influence and reflect market trends.

“Wine2wine provides unique opportunities to share ideas on the most important issues facing the rapidly evolving wine industry and to connect with wine professionals and experts,” the organisers said, adding that the event was “a key reference point for wine producers” eager to develop and grow their wine businesses worldwide.
