Wine List Confidential to reveal London’s most distributed wines

A new category for this year’s Wine List Confidential Awards has been introduced to highlight the most distributed wines in London restaurants.

Come to the London Wine Fair on Monday to find out the most prevalent wines in London restaurants at the Wine List Confidential Awards, 12.30, stand E54

Using data compiled by Wine Picker, WLC will be rewarding those wines that are featured on more London wine lists than any other.

So how do we know these are the most sought-after wines among London’s sommelier community?

Well, the brains behind Wine Picker – Josselin Guibert and Julien Sahut – have uploaded all the wines from each one of London’s 560 major restaurants giving them a data bank of more than 41,000 different labels.

Crucially, such information is fully searchable, meaning that Wine Picker can provide interested parties with broad trends, such as how much white Burgundy is present in London’s on-trade, or a list of restaurants that serve, for example, Leflaive Montrachet, and for what price.

And, for this year’s Wine List Confidential Awards, Wine Picker has trawled its vast database of London restaurant wines to find out which labels appear most often.

Today, we are revealing the shortlist following such research, although we will announce the winner in each category at the awards ceremony at the London Wine Fair on Monday 20 May at 12.30 on the Wine List Confidential stand, E54 – so make sure you are there.
