Bacchus Marathon and Half Marathon, Surrey


The Bacchus Marathon and Half-Marathon sees entrants run laps around England’s largest vineyard, Denbies Wine Estate in Surrey, with wine stations dotted along the way.

Runners will encounter five wine tastings on the half marathon, and 10 tastings on the full marathon. The Bacchus Marathon is a great way to taste English wines while experiencing the vineyards they come from. Plus, the Bacchus Marathon was voted the second best UK half-marathon by Runners World readers in 2013..

  1. Good article but you missed one of the biggest booziest run : The Marathon International du Beaujolais!
    This massive event attracts over 17 000 runners over 3 races : 13k, half-marathon and a marathon. They all through the Beaujolais vineyards with lots of tastings throughout the race. It takes place every year on the 3rd Saturday of November, so 2 days after Beaujolais Nouveau Day held on the 3rd Thursday of November yearly.
    Over 55 nations are represented.
