Entries now open for Asia Design & Packaging Masters

the drinks business Hong Kong will launch the Asian Design & Packaging Masters 2019 next April, a competition that will showcase the most innovative packaging and design solutions in the Asian spirits market.

Consumers are are inundated with choice, and getting liquid to lips is a harder task than ever. As such, having standout packaging is vital to recruit new consumers and keep fans engaged.

This will be the only competition in Asia launched to assess and judge spirits based on their appearance alone, taking into consideration their use of quality materials, creativity in packaging, branding, functionality and effectiveness of brand communication.

A panel of cherry-picked experts including some of Hong Kong’s main trade buyers will judge samples in a number of categories: absinthe, American whiskey, brandy, cachaça, Cognac, gin, Irish whiskey, liqueurs, mezcal, rum, Scotch whisky, Tequila, vodka, and world whisky.

Silver, Gold and Master medals will be awarded in each category. There are no limits to the number of medals, with medals going to the winning spirits based on quality rather than quantity.

The winning brands will also have an opportunity to be displayed at the drinks business’s booth in future international events such as the HKTDC International Wine and Spirits Fair.

Results will be published in the drinks business Hong Kong print edition, online on the Spirits Business website as well as on all of our social media platforms and in a newsletter in both English and Chinese.

The official registration form deadline is 22 March, and each entry should be submitted with two samples. If you would like to enter please contact john.duffy@thedrinksbusiness.com.
