Ex-Noma chef to open new Mayfair restaurant Pucci

Ex-Noma and Gordon Ramsay Group chef Tilly Turbet will open a new restaurant in Mayfair next month, inspired by the former King’s Road restaurant Pucci Pizza, which opened in Chelsea in the 1970s.

Pucci will open on Maddox Street in mid-November, and according to Eater will serve a “vibrant modern menu of small plates showcasing flavours from across the Mediterranean”, specifically Italy, Turkey, and Lebanon, as well as the thin crust pizzas that its former namesake was known for.

The pizzas will revive the same recipe used by founder Pucci Albanese, when the likes of Rod Stewart, Bryan Ferry, and a host of Italian footballers would dine at the Chelsea hotspot.

“The Pucci” is topped with Fresh tomato, buffalo mozzarella, Parma ham, rocket, and parmesan, while wines will almost exclusively Italian.

It’s understood that Albanese’s son, Rufus, is a partner in the restaurant and will join Turbett as front of house.

The wider menu will include dishes such as glazed barbary duck breast with pomegranate molasses and sweet potato; wild sea bass crudo with chilli, melon and lime oil; sticky delizia pumpkin with honey, sesame, goat curd and Aleppo pepper; and harissa-charred cauliflower with green tahini and pomegranate; and Grilled radicchio with parmesan and bottarga.
