Zonin to host first UK portfolio tasting
Italian wine producerZonin will host its first UK portfolio tasting in the City of London this month.
Titled “Uncork the Summer”, the portfolio tasting will include wines from estates such as Castello di Albola, Rocca di Montemassi, Masseria Altemura and Principi di Butera, and is to be hosted by a the producer’s team of winemakers at Stationer’s Hall.
In addition to the walk around tasting, the winery will also host a masterclass featuring the wines of Zonin’s new Chilean venture, Dos Almas.
A family trip to the South American country six years ago apparently provided the inspiration for the venture.
The masterclass will start at 7pm, and be lead by chief winemaker Stefano Ferrante. Details on how to book your place can be found here.
Ferrante has been heading up the latest project from Zonin 1821, which comprises a selection of seven wines from across Chile under the brand Dos Almas, meaning ‘Two Souls’ – a name chosen to reflect the union of Italian cellar techniques and Chilean terroir, as well as two winemaking families: the Zonins and Chile’s Vial family, who own Viña Ventisquero, and provided the vineyards for the project.
