The Bordeaux estate was awarded a Siri Pack Gold Award at the 9th VS Pack Trade Show in Cognac, in the category of Innovation in the Field of Packaging of Wines and Spirits in France, for its Art Russe gift box.

Its entry followed the signing of a cooperation agreement in May 2017 between Château La Grace Dieu Des Prieurs and the Art Russe Foundation, which owns one of the largest collections of Russian art of the late 19th and 20th centuries.

As part of the agreement, Art Russe will make available its brand name and reproductions of 12 works by Russian painters from the collection of Art Russe on an annual basis, to be used in the design of the estate’s Grand Cru wine labels.

The unique Art Russe wine gift box, designed by Wildcat Packaging, is made of wood and concrete, materials that have been widely used by French architect Jean Nouvel in the ongoing renovation of the estate.

As part of its ongoing modernisation project, the renowned wine consultant Louis Mitjavile was also invited to improve the winemaking process, complementing the work of Nouvel.

The VS Pack Trade Show for Innovation in the Field of Packaging of Wines and Spirits is held annually by the Atlanpack Association, gathering professional market participants from France and other European countries.

The forum is attended by exporters and importers of wines and spirits, retailers, producers, wine estate sales experts, marketing and procurement managers, and other professionals.
