Frapin unveils new-look gift boxes for Christmas

Frapin has unveiled two new gift boxes in time for the festive season; one for its latest VSOP decanter, and a second “Jewellery box” for its premium Frapin Extra Cognac.

Frapin VSOP is only available in 70cl bottles.

The new VSOP glassware is reputed to take its inspiration from Frapin’s VIP XO decanter.

The bottle is taller and narrower than the original, with different detailing on the neck and stopper.

The VSOP also comes with two Frapin tulip glasses, which are “the ideal shape to discover the natural elegance of our cognacs,” according to the drinks maker.

In addition to this, the Cognac producer has also introduced a “Jewellery box” for its award-winning 70cl Frapin Extra decanter in a bid to target shoppers ahead of the Christmas period, which includes a

Frapin is the largest single estate in the Grande Champagne region of Cognac, the name ‘Grande Champagne’ deriving from the similarity of the chalky soil to that in Champagne.

The Frapin family’s history dates back to 1270 and the estate now owns 240 hectares of premier cru vineyards.

The VSOP is aged in Limousin oak barrels adding complexity and spice to the aromas and flavours of orange, dried flowers, vanilla and cinnamon, according to the producer.

Frapin Extra, meanwhile, has “complex and evolved aromas” typical of very old Grande Champagne cognacs.

“These include nutty rancio and the scent of old cigar boxes with concentrated dried apricots. In the mouth it is supple, mellow and luxurious with an exceptionally long finish.”

Cognac Frapin VSOP currently retails for around £55 in the UK and is imported by Louis Latour Agencies, while the Frapin Extra jewellery box is available .
