La Rioja Alta celebrates 75th with Swarovski Jero

La Rioja Alta is celebrating the 75th vintage of its Viña Ardanza brand with a bespoke Jeroboam featuring the number ‘75’ crafted from Swarovski crystals.

Just 2,000 of the three-litre, Swarovski encrusted bottles went on sale this week.

Each bottle is individually numbered and signed by Viña Ardanza’s winemaker, Julio Sáenz.

The celebration bottles, filled with the 2008 vintage, come in a gift box with their own wooden corkscrew.

The 2008 vintage was chosen as it was the first year that Garnacha from Rioja Alta’s La Pedriza vineyard were used in the blend, which is formed of 80% Tempranillo and 20% Garnacha.

The 67-hectare La Pedriza vineyard was planted in the year 2000.

Haro-based La Rioja Alta has a series of activities and events planned as part of Viña Ardanza’s 75th vintage celebration in Spain, Europe the US and Asia.
