Farmacy launches cannabis cocktails

Farmacy, a London restaurant championing plant-based dishes, has launched a range of drinks laced with CBD – a chemical compound found in the cannabis plant.

The OMG shot, laced with CBD oil

The restaurant, founded by Camilla Fayed in Westbourne Park, is the first in London to offer CBD drinks, though the trend is already popular in America.

There’s Something About Mary CBD cocktail

Cannabidiol (CBD) is a non-psychoactive part of the cannabis plant. CBD oil is touted as having a number of health benefits, and is thought to be an anti-inflammatory, anti-oxidant and antidepressant, and can be used to improve mood, memory, motor control, sleep and energy levels.

CBD has also been used to treat epilepsy and as a pain reliever. Keen to harness CBD’s health benefits, Farmacy has developed a range of drinks infused with CBD oil and claims it has sourced “the highest quality CBD available”.

Served as a shot from a syringe, the OMG blends CBD with flaxseed and grapefruit. There’s Something About Mary meanwhile, features CBD, vanilla vodka, lime juice, homemade hemp and bay leaf syrup, mango puree and a dash of chilli sauce.

The Grass Me Up is a smoothie made with CBD, coconut water, pineapple, lime juice, acai protein powder, hemp seeds and banana.

In addition, the restaurant will serve a range of “medicinal mushrooms” known for their positive effects on the heart, liver and intestines and their anti-cancer properties.

Dishes at Farmacy support both a vegan and vegetarian diet and are free from dairy, refined sugars, additives and chemicals.
