Four new Masters of Wine announced

Four members of the wine trade, including two from the UK, have just been named as the first new Masters of Wine for 2017.

Today’s announcement takes the total number of MWs worldwide to 356

The new members of the Institute of Masters of Wine were announced this morning, taking the total number of MWs worldwide to 356, living in 29 countries.

The latest crop of successful MW students joins the 13 announced in September last year, which included the Institute’s first Indian member.

The notoriously tough Masters of Wine Examination consists of three stages, including theory and practical exams, and culminates in the submission of a final research paper – an in-depth study on a wine related topic from any area of the sciences, arts, humanities, or social sciences.

You can see the four new members over the following pages, including biographies and the titles of their research papers.

Congratulations to the new members from all of us at the drinks business.
