TWC releases rare Glenfarclas in Singapore

The Whisky Corporation has launched the Glenfarclas Pagoda Reserve Trilogy series, consisting of extremely rare examples of 43, 48 and 59 year old expressions exclusively in Singapore.

Tapping into Singapore’s thirst for rare and aged whisky expressions, the Whisky Corporation (TWC) has only released 10 sets of the Pagoda Reserve series onto the market, with TWC’s chief operating officer, Ben Morley describing a huge pre-order demand from whisky collectors in Asia, especially for the magnums.

“All of the magnums and a total of 90 Trilogies were secured by collectors and those in the know some time ago,” he said.

“We have seen a huge amount of interest in rare and fine whiskies within Asia through our offices in Hong Kong, Shanghai and our most recent expansion in Singapore.

“As such, we’re concentrating on strategic growth in these key markets where savvy investors are looking to diversify their investment portfolios, and catering to connoisseurs looking for exceptional and limited edition whiskies to add to their collections.”

Launched by George Grant, the sixth generation distillery director at Glenfarclas, the Pagoda series includes three classic Glenfarclas vintages, the 43 year old, 48 year old and 59 year old, each bottled in hand-blown Glencairn crystal decanters with a pagoda-shaped stopper in brass, silver and gold.

Above China and Hong Kong, TWC has also chosen Singapore as its next market for the Glenfarclas Pagoda Ruby Reserve which has been aged for 62 years and is the distillery’s oldest release.

The Ruby Reserve will be in two expressions, Limited Edition Silver available in 180 700ml bottles and 62 magnums and the Collector’s Edition Gold with only 50 700ml bottles and 50 magnums released.

Morley credits aged labelled single malts’ extremely limited production as being instrumental in the sharp spike of interest from whisky collectors around Asia, as well as the chance of seeing return on investment.

“The whisky investment landscape is incredibly buoyant and those who have bought the most exclusive whiskies have yielded exceptional returns in recent years.

“By working with key distilleries such as Glenfarclas to offer limited edition and exclusive collections including the Pagoda series, we provide our clients with access to some of the most sought after and finest collectable whiskies available globally,” he said.
