Tanqueray releases new expression in Singapore

Named after the Rangpur lime which grows abundantly in India, the Tanqueray Rangpur gin has launched in Singapore in response to a growing demand for premium gins in the island state.

The Rangpur lime from the native Indian Rangpur tree has the “zestiness of lime and the juiciness of a Mandarin orange” and is blended with Tanqueray’s signature botanicals including juniper, bay leaf and ginger, making it suitable for classic martinis or on the rocks.

Parent company, Diageo, spoke of the increased interest in premium gin in Singapore and elsewhere in Asia with the rise of cocktails competitions and gin-focused events such as the East Imperial Gin Jubilee.

“Once dismissed as old fashioned, gin is now experiencing a revival across Asia and we’re excited to be introducing the Rangpur in the Singapore market of gin lovers,” said Fabricio Marques, Diageo Reserve’s brand development manager for Asia Pacific.

“Putting a zesty twist on the world’s finest gin, Tanqueray Rangpur Gin is one not to be missed. Be it straight up or in a cocktail, it brings out a unique flavour – a refreshing blend of citrus and botanicals.”

Its global launch in 2006 has seen  Rangpur has won gold, double gold and platinum awards at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition in 2007, 2008 and 2009.

Tanqueray Rangpur’s RRP is $80 (£44.50) and is available throughout Cellarbration retail stores, distributed by Singapore Beverages Pte Ltd.
