Christie’s reveals NYC auction line-ups

Auction house Christie’s will hold two fine wine and spirit auctions this October in New York City featuring lots of Burgundy and rare Scotch.

Taking place from 20-21 October, the first sale is described as being full of “superlative” Bordeaux and Burgundy.

Highlights include magnums of 1990 Domaine de la Romanée-Conti Romanée-Conti and 1995 Cros Parantoux from Henri Jayer as well as cases of 1982 Château Lafite and 1989 Haut-Brion.

Other interesting lots include one bottle of 1951 Margaux, four magnums of 1964 Latour and six bottles of 1961 Mouton Rothschild as well as lots of second to fifth growth names from the 1970s to 2000s. There is also a top collection of Champagne including 1961 Dom Pérignon and 1985 Krug.

The sale on 21 October likewise features top Burgundy including DRC and various grand cru Faiveley from the 1960s and ‘70s. The session will also feature fine spirits such as The Macallan 50-year-old 1951 and The Glenlivet, ‘Winchester Collection Vintage 1966, which is offered directly from the distillery.

A bottle from the personal collection of master distiller, Alan Winchester, the buyer will also have the opportunity to travel to Scotland with Winchester to lay own a cask of 2016 The Glenlivet which will be bottled in 2066; the buyer will receive a certificate of ownership for one bottle to be drawn from the cask at that time.

With an estimate of US$26,000-$40,000, the proceeds will go to UK charity, The Crafts Council.
