Kerry Wines named official wine sponsor of Formula E

HK premium wine importer, Kerry Wines has been announced as the official wine sponsor of Formula E happening in Hong Kong in October.

Hong Kong’s first FIA Formula E Hong Kong ePrix, the first fully electric motor race ever held in the city will take place from 8-9 October and aims to highlight the environmental sustainability of electric cars.

Courtesy of Kerry Wines, spectators across both days can sip Lapostolle’s Cuvée Alexandre Merlot 2012 and Cuvée Alexandre Chardonnay 2013, as it has been announced that Kerry Wines has been announced as the official wine sponsor of Formula E.

Lapostolle was founded by Alexandra Marnier Lapostolle and her husband Cyril de Bournet in 1994. The Marnier Lapostolle family have been involved in winemaking for generations and are the founders of promiment liquor brand, Grand Marnier.

Their wines have received international acclaim and Lapostolle was also heralded as the “New World Winery of the Year 2008” by Wine Enthusiast.

Today, Lapostolle owns over 360 hectares in three different vineyards in the Casablanca, Cachapoal and Colchagua Valleys. They are 100% certified organic by CERES and adopt biodynamic practices in the vineyards.

Kerry Wines is the exclusive agent of Lapostolle for the Greater China region. Speaking to the drinks business HK, Kerry Wines’ general manager, Eric Desgouttes said:

“We have chosen Lapostolle, referred in 2008 as the New World Winery of the Year, because they take great environmental precautions by practicing organic and biodynamic farming in their vineyards, which in turn give their wines a distinctive flavour that has won them kudos worldwide.”
