Viña Albali takes top award in US competition

Spain’s Viña Albali Gran Reserva Seleccion Privada has been awarded the Chairman´s Trophy in the Ultimate Wine Challenge.

The wine, which comes from Valdepeñas, was awarded 96 points in the US wine competition, and was classified as a “great value” in the results, which have just been released.

Vina Albali Grana Reserva Seleccion Privada – which came from the 2010 vintage – was the only Spanish wine in the competition to receive the highest acknowledgement, known as the Chairman´s Trophy.

The label is owned by Felix Solis Avantis, which, as a company, picked up awards for as many as 17 wines in the challenge.

9 of them got 90 points or above, including Viña Albali Gran Reserva de Familia (95 points), Arnegui Reserva (95 points), and Gran Bajoz (93 points).

This is the seventh edition of this completion held for four weeks in Hawthorne, New York.

“We hope that these results help us increase the sales in the US”, said Felix Solis-Ramos, export director of Felix Solis Avantis.
