Daffy’s unveils £50k gin Martini cocktail

Gin producer Daffy’s has unveiled what it claims to be the “world’s most expensive” Martini at £50,000, with a “trip of a lifetime” included with its purchase.

The Daffy’s gin Martini (not pictured) costs £50,000 and includes an 8-day world trip including private jets and yachts.

The Edinburgh-based gin producer’s Martini is ‘garnished’ with a “ginscapade” – which will see anyone that purchases the drink whisked away on a world tour of the countries that produce the botanicals used to create Daffy’s Gin.

The eight-day journey will start in New York, before being flown first class to the Balkan States, where its juniper is sourced. A private yacht will then take you through the Adriatic Sea to the bay of Kotor and then on to Montenegro’s Aman Sveti.

A private jet will then whisk you to Morocco – home to the gin’s orris root and coriander seeds – where each traveller will be chauffeured to the Atlas Mountains to spend three nights in Kasbah Tamadot, Richard Branson’s “most luxurious” destination.

Attendees will stay full board in a Berber Tent, where they will be able to enjoy an “exceptional” dining and drinking experience. The producer’s senior mixologist will accompany the traveller, offering a bespoke drinking experience along the way.

“Thanks to our ‘Ginscapade’, our customers can now travel in our footsteps and experience the adventure,” said company founder Chris Molyneaux. “Anyone who purchases the tipple at Merchant House is in for the ride of their lives, not only will they get to see first-hand the stunning locations where our botanicals are sourced, but they’ll also experience the jet set lifestyle – from private jets and yachts to eating and drinking in the world’s best venues.”

The cocktail, described as a “Martini with a twist of travel”, will be available from Merchant House in London from 11 June – World Gin Day – until the end of the month.
