Russian drinks fan gets beer tap in kitchen

A casual joke from a beer fan in Russia ended with a dream come true: a beer tap installed in his kitchen, delivering the amber nectar from the local craft brewery downstairs.

Beer lover Andrey Yeremeev no longer needs to think twice before fetching a beer in the cold Russian winter. Pulling a pint of his favourite local brew doesn’t require a walk to his local off licence or even a nearby pub, since his local brewery installed a beer tap next to the hot and cold water in his kitchen sink.

Andrey, from Chelyabinsk, east of the Ural Mountains, was talking to the manager of the brewery, located on the ground floor below his flat, and joked about getting the beer piped into his kitchen. Much to his surprise, the manager not only listened, but sent an engineer to install the system.

A ten metre pipeline now connects the brewery keg to the kitchen. Although fitting the pipeline was more expensive than buying kegs, Andrey says the microbrewery takes care of keeping the drink properly stored and fresh. The arrangement has even been approved by the local council.
