Tesco stores host ‘hangover help’ stations

UK retailer Tesco opened “hangover help” stalls in three of its London stores on Friday (11 December) following what was expected to be the country’s busiest night for office Christmas parties.

The pop-ups, located at Canary Wharf, Bishopsgate and Monument Metro stores will opened at 6.30am on Friday to provide customers with smoothies and juices.

Recipe cards for hearty breakfast dishes were also handed out to customers at the three stores.

Rachel Jones, director of Tesco’s convenience store division in London, said on the day of the stalls opening: “We know many of our customers will have entered into the festive spirit last night so we’ll be helping them get through the morning with delicious smoothies that give you a lift and leave you feeling fresh.

“We’ll also be serving Virgin Bloody Marys which should help our customers feel fresh and rehydrated”, she said.

Smoothies included The Kickstarter, which consisted of melon, pineapple and fresh ginger.

Hangover breakfast recipes included The Comforter, the “ultimate breakfast sandwich” made with thick slices of wholemeal or rye bread filled with crispy bacon, a fried egg, spinach, beef tomato, and avocado slices.
