Fine wine broker LHK to close

Fine wine broker LHK has announced it is to close down after its owners decided to part ways.

In an email to clients, one of the company’s founders, Tom Mann, explained that he and co-founder, Paddy Magill, had, “amicably decided to go our separate ways to pursue other projects both in and out of the wine industry.”

The email continued: “Therefore, it is with regret that over the next few months we will be slowly winding down the LHK business, ensuring all of our incredibly valued customers & suppliers are looked after and any business is wrapped up swiftly and accordingly.”

Responding to an enquiry from the drinks business, Mann explained: “We will continue trading until Christmas by which time all of the wines will have been delivered to customers apart from a few cases of 2013 Bordeaux which we will ship in January. We’ve already started to ship in our 2013s and the first deliveries went out this week.”

Mann added that Magill was going on to work on a new business he’s started down in Somerset called Vine Wine, while he himself had had, “some very interesting conversations in the last few days so I expect to finalise something in the next couple of weeks.”

LHK was founded in 2009 by Mann and Magill and they were later joined by Luke Griffiths, all of them spent a number of years at Jeroboams with Mann going on to work at Fine & Rare Wines and Bordeaux Index which he left in 2009 to co-found LHK. Griffiths joined from Genesis Wines.
