Zombie pub crawl breaks world record

More than 35,000 people dressed as zombies helped break a world record by taking part in the largest ever Zombie Pub Crawl.

The Minneapolis Zombie Pub Crawl, now in its 10th year, sees thousands dress as the undead and gather for an evening of live music and drinking through the area’s bars.

This year the crowd was so large it broke the Guinness World Record for the largest gathering of people dressed as zombies in a single location, which now stands at 15,478.

Guinness only counts zombies gathered within a single secure location, despite the event’s total numbers reaching 35,000.

Despite record breaking numbers police reported just nine arrests, according to CBS Local.

John Elder, a spokesperson for the Minneapolis Police said: “It went beautifully. It really did,”

“We’re not talking gross misdemeanors or felonies, just nine instances where people couldn’t be corralled in and put on the right path.

“People are down to celebrate, have fun and enjoy themselves. So, the mantra of the police department was fabulous, make it happen, as long as people are doing it responsibly.”

The event, which costs $30 per zombie, also features performances by various artists with rappers Juicy J and Flavor Flav on this year’s bill.
