Victoria Beckham was on hand to support her husband’s first foray into the whisky trade this weekend, posting a picture of the pair smooching at an exclusive dinner to celebrate the launch of his Haig Club Whisky.

Haig Club, a single grain no-age-statement Scotch, was launched by UK drinks giant Diageo alongside sports icon David Beckham and music mogul Simon Fuller in April this year.

With the whisky now on the shelves, the 40-year-old fashion designer and former Spice Girl joined Beckham in raising a toast to the Scotch at an event in East Lothian, Scotland, on Saturday, attended by the likes of Gordon Ramsay and his wife Tana.

Guests were treated to a lavish dinner prepared by Michelin-starred chef Tom Kitchin at Gilmerton House in North Berwick – a Grade A listed Georgian mansion.

Victoria tweeted a picture of the pair, who recently celebrated their 15th wedding anniversary, from her Twitter account.

Beckham is reported to have visited the Diageo plant in Alloa on Sunday to film an ad for the whisky brand.

Haig Club – which takes its design inspiration from the fragrance industry – launched first at Selfridges and at Singapore’s Changi Airport and will also be available at The Whisky Shop in Piccadilly, before being rolled out to selected wider retail markets and premium on-trade outlets.

The 40% abv spirit has a recommended retail price of £45 for a 70cl bottle.

As part of Beckham’s involvement in promoting the whisky brand, the former England captain will also be leading the promotion of a responsible drinking programme for Haig Club.
