Provence’s first Cabernet Franc released

Chateau Léoube in Provence has released the French region’s first red wine made of 100% Cabernet Franc.

The wine, named the ‘Collector’, is produced from 20 year-old vines and was described by one of our tasters as: “Smoky and savoury with flavours of mint, pepper, spice, rubber, sage, white pepper, violets, and silky with finely grained tannins, good acidity and balance.”

Chateau Léoube, owned by Sir Anthony and Lady Bamford of JCB and Daylesford Organic respectively, has garnered praise for it’s rosés in particular, winning two medals, a gold and a silver, in the drinks business global rosé masters.

Cabernet Franc in France is normally found in the Loire Valley and Bordeaux.
