Spink’s sale in Singapore last week saw a decanter of the latest limited edition Louis XIII realise S$20,704.

Among the fine and rare Cognac was the chance to buy a brand new, limited edition decanter which is scheduled for release later this year.

Only the third decanter of its kind to be released in the past 100 years, the “Black Pearl” is filled with spirit from casks at the Domaine de Merpins belonging to the Rémy Martin family.

In total, 10 of the 11 decanters were sold, including a rare three-litre Jeroboam.

Other top lots from the sale included a case of 1988 Bonnes Mares from Domaine Comte Georges de Vogűé (S$3,540), a 1965 Bruichladdich (S$1,830) and a rare bottling of 1977 Macallan in a crystal decanter dating from 1900 (S$6,340).
