Cop sends ‘I’m not a terrorist’ drunk morning after text
Waking up after a heavy night and not being able to remember getting home is bad enough.
But waking up to a text from a police officer reminding you of what was a seemingly debauched night in which you insisted you “weren’t a terrorist” and pleaded not to be “sent back to Ireland” is even worse.
That is exactly what happened to one hapless imbiber known only as “Marty” who, after what appears to have been a particularly heavy night out, was picked up by the police and taken home.
Lucky for Marty, the police officer was a caring soul who thought it best to follow up his taxi service by texting Marty with some words of wisdom.
After reminding Marty of his drunken rant in which he assures the officers he is “not a terrorist”, the “Noice Ploice Man” tells Marty “when you drink please stay safe and don’t drink yourself into that state”, adding “hope you’re not too hungover”.
The exchange was posted on image sharing site imgur with users praising the kindly cop’s actions.
One user said: “Good to see cops with common decency and a sense of humor. It goes underreported.”
Another noted the equally thoughtful timing of the text adding: “I love how the police didn’t text until 1.46pm, knowing the guy would be hungover!”
