Body found in Dordogne may be from crash

A body found in the Dordogne last weekend may be one of the victims from the recent helicopter crash and is possibly one of the Chinese occupants.

Police in Bordeaux have been looking the bodies of Chinese billionaire, Lam Kok, vineyard owner James Grégoire and interpreter Peng Wang since the helicopter crash which killed them (along with Kok’s son) on 20 December.

Although the body of Kok’s 12-year-old son was found near the wreckage of the helicopter, the other three bodies have been missing for nearly three weeks.

The body was found near Saint-André-de-Cubzac, 10 kilometres west of the crash site

According to local paper Sud-Ouest,it is not possible to positively identify the body found but it a source told the paper is thought to be one of the Chinese.

Le Parisien reported that the gendarmerie have “not excluded” the possibility that it is a crash victim as the features were “not recognisable”.

Colonel Ghislain Réty said it was too early to jump to conclusions as there were, “many missing people and suicides” who may have ended up in the river.

The body will now be subject to a DNA test.
