London Wine Fair targets consumers with wine week

A seven day celebration of London’s restaurants, bars and wine merchants has been launched by the organisers of the London Wine Fair to coincide with the trade show.

Called London Wine Week, the initiative will be organised by the team behind London Cocktail Week, and the festival has been launched to help winemakers visiting the capital for the London Wine Fair to meet with consumers as well as trade customers.

“London Wine Week is about taking a fun and engaging approach to tasting and drinking wine and we believe that a central London trade event supported by a consumer-facing festival, is a great way for the trade to make the most of a week when winemakers from all over the world descend on the city,” said Ross Carter, show director of London Wine Fair, which takes place from 2-4 June.

Running from 2 to 8 June this year, London Wine Week will target 10,000 people who will be provided with wristbands that will give them access to offers and wine-related events taking place across the capital.

London Wine Week is hoping to attract 50 independent merchants and 150 restaurants to take part in the festival, and both Borough Wines and the D&D group are among those who have already confirmed involvement.
