JF Hillebrand boosts The Benevolent donations

JF Hillebrand has pledged to match its customers’ donations to UK drinks industry trade charity The Benevolent over the next year, writes Chris Cox.

Having started on 1 April, the logistics provider will continue to match all ‘£1 per order’ voluntary donations made by any of its customers to the charity until 31 March 2014.

Director of JF Hillebrand UK and chairman of The Benevolent, Chris Porter, said: “This year we made the conscious decision to step up our commitment to the drinks industry and the professionals working within it. We are delighted to offer our customers the chance to double their donations to The Benevolent and we are excited to see how much we can raise together for this worthy cause.”

The Benevolent offers help to those in the industry with their mission to combat challenging social issues such as long-term illness, homelessness, addiction, poverty and disability, as well as providing practical, emotional and financial support to those in need.

The charity’s former chief executive, Paul Newman, who was succeeded by David Cox on 8 April, also welcomed the announcement, praising JF Hillebrand for its commitment to the industry and noting that the logistics firm was “ideally placed” to help bring the trade together to fight these issues.
