The Queen painted in Cobra Beer and Spices

To celebrate the forthcoming Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Cobra has commissioned “beer artist” Karen Eland to produce a portrait of the Queen using just beer and spices as her “paints”.

Lord Karan Bilimoria, founder and chairman of Cobra Beer Partnership, a joint-venture with Molson Coors, said: “It is a matter of great pride for all of us at Cobra to be the supplier of beer for The Queen’s Jubilee picnic and concert. Cobra has existed for just over one third of Queen Elizabeth II’s reign, and in that time it has become a household name.”

Karen Eland, started her career using watercolours and oil paints, before catching the eye of Cobra, the splendidly Indian and superbly smooth beer, when she realised that beer proved the most successful medium for her work.

Cobra is the sole supplier of beer for The Queen’s Jubilee picnic.
