Stars come out for Moët & Chandon

Moët & Chandon celebrated 168 years in China with a celebrity-packed gala dinner on the Peninsula Shanghai Rooftop Terrace earlier this month.

Diners, including the current face of the brand, Hollywood star Scarlett Johansson, washed down their meals with a rare Grand Vintage 1911.

President and CEO of Moët & Chandon, Daniel Lalonde, said: “Moët’s 168-year history in China, a country with an exceptional heritage, is based on our shared values: firmly rooted in tradition yet innovatively forward thinking.

“As the Champagne of success and glamour since 1743, Moët is proud to host this magical evening in Shanghai with Scarlett Johansson.”

The dinner followed on from an auction where a specially packaged case of six bottles of the 1911 vintage went for US$100,000, with proceeds going to the Nature Conservancy initiative.
